Boys House Commissioner 5th/6th Grade
This page is intended to give you more in-depth information about the boys house 5th/6th Grade program.
Boys in grades 5 and 6 will be combined to play together in a single league.
Evaluations for the 5th/6th grade boys take place October 14. The team Equidraft will take place on Monday, October 16th at the Edina Community Center, this is for coaches/evaluators only. Coaches are encouraged to attend both evaluations and the Equidraft.
Parent coaches are needed for the 5th/6th grade league. The time commitment is minimal, and coaching is fun and rewarding. If you sign up to coach prior to team formation, you can participate in the player selection Equidraft and influence your team's roster. Coaches can attend a training session before the start of the season. Coaches will be given one ball, first aid kit and game book.
The EBA works with the Edina Park & Rec. department to put practice and game schedules together. Teams generally play/practice twice a week. The 5th/6th grade teams will play/practice on Mondays/Thursdays. The season kicks-off in November. The first few sessions of the season will be devoted to practices. Games will start in December. No games or practices will be scheduled during winter break, but open gym time may be available. Games will be played through mid-February, then playoffs will begin. The final playoff games will be played in the last half of February/beginning of March. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams and Consolation champs.
